Lives and works in London, UK

b. 1993

Sophie’s practice is focused on producing large-scale paintings telling stories of romance and sexual violence. They see the value of consent within image-making as a push and pull using pov which has become a language of performance. They value making whilst balancing low-fi references and harbouring the sentiment of role play. Their work references disability, sex addiction, ecosexuality and queerness. Embracing clowning and humour at its core. Clowning used post-ironically as a placeholder to ridicule predatorial men.

Their practice is based in London where they also, earned a BA from Slade School of Fine Art in 2019. They are a Tom Of Finland emerging artist winner. Showing in group shows internationally with; Mana Contemporary, New Jersey, USA; Galeria Anna Marra, Belgium; Eduardo Secci Contemporary, Florence, Italy; Changing Room Gallery, London, UK; but most recently shown at Quench, Margate, UK. They have also participated in the Palazzo Monti Residency, IT, in 2019.
