14 March - 4 April 2026
Atmospheric Pressure presents a body of work by Timo Kube, which examines atmosphere as both a physical condition and a conceptual field, addressing its material, ecological, and perceptual dimensions.
In a physical sense, atmosphere refers to meteorological and environmental systems that make life on earth possible. Metaphorically, it describes the felt intensity of a situation as it is experienced individually and collectively. Such atmospheres emerge through affective and often self-perpetuating relations between human and non-human, material and immaterial bodies*, producing forms of social and environmental pressure that can accumulate over time.
The exhibition reflects on how largely unseen conditions, such as pressure, density, circulation, and porosity influence ecological systems and everyday experience. The works do not function as self-contained objects, but instead activate and condition the spaces in which they are encountered. Installed across interior and exterior sites, the exhibition extends into its immediate surroundings through a network of film, painting and sculpture, connecting the works to Kube’s ongoing engagement with environmental and site-sensitive processes.
A new essay by Séamus McCormack will accompany the exhibition.
